SWRM

The idea behind SWRM is based on the natural phenomenon known as stigmergy. In nature, the action of one influences another. SWRM was born from this same principle. We are a group of techno enthusiasts influenced by the work of others who first drew us to the scene, shaped our tastes, and inspired us to explore further.

From these influences, we developed our own work and our desire to create experiences that reflect what we look for in a party ourselves — inspired by the underground events, artists, promoters, and communities that have left a lasting impression on us.

That influence and inspiration extends beyond the dance floor. Techno's story is inseparable from the story of Detroit, the city whose social, cultural, and economic landscape shaped the conditions from which the music emerged. While we make no claim to be experts on this history, we are passionate students of it, continually exploring the stories, people, and ideas that helped shape the music, culture, and city that inspires us. Part of our mission is to share this story, while connecting others with the work of those who have dedicated themselves to documenting and preserving that history.

Just as others influenced us, we hope to inspire the next group of individuals — whether someone discovering techno for the first time or someone who later creates something entirely their own. Through hard work, passion, curiosity, love, and respect for the scene, its roots, and its future, we hope to contribute something meaningful to the ongoing story.

We are still a long way from launch and are working hard behind the scenes as we continue building SWRM piece by piece. This project is very much a work in progress, and we invite anyone who shares our curiosity, passion, and appreciation for the culture to follow along as we learn, grow, and bring these ideas to life together.
